The Chelsea Piers Sports & Entertainment Complex is a 28-acre waterfront sports village located between 17th and 23rd Streets along Manhattan’s Hudson River. This $120 million, privately-financed project opened in 1995, transforming four historic, but long-neglected, piers into a major center for public recreation and waterfront access. Situated on Piers 59, 60 and 61 and in the headhouse that connects them, the Complex features the following sports and entertainment venues: The Golf Club, The Sports Center Health Club, Sky Rink, Bowlmor Chelsea Piers, PIER SIXTY at Chelsea Piers, THE LIGHTHOUSE at Chelsea Piers, Chelsea Piers Maritime Center, Studios and the origins of CPSC, The Field House.
Since the opening of the facilities, the Field House has home to energetic soccer classes, fun recreational games, vibrant camps/clinic and fierce competitive leagues. The natural progression for the raising players within our classes was to showcase their development against inner city competition. The need for a travel team presented itself and in 2004 the first Chelsea Piers Soccer Club team entered competition in the Cosmopolitan Junior Soccer League. CPSC would continue this progression to produce one travel team annually for each subsequent age group that still competes in New York City’s oldest soccer league, the Cosmopolitan Junior Soccer League.
